The Portuguese Society for Animal Genetic Resources (SPREGA) and the Spanish Society for Animal Genetic Resources (SERGA), with the support of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), are organizing the VI Iberian Congress on Animal Genetic Resources, which will take place jointly with the 4th Meeting of the Portuguese Society for Animal Genetic Resources. This event will take place between the 18th and 20th September, 2008, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

As in previous Congresses, oral and poster presentations will be accepted on genetic diversity of Iberian breeds, their productive and demographic characterization, as well as on other areas such as management, conservation, improvement and marketing of Animal Genetic Resources.

We expect your active collaboration and participation, and hope that this event will be an open forum of discussion about the situation and perspectives for Animal Genetic Resources in the Iberian Peninsula and the World.
